What's not to LOVE about this chicken?  They are a beautiful German breed that was brought to the US in the 1970s.  They are dual purpose and can be used for both meat and eggs, laying over 200 per year.  They are very docile and grow quickly.  The best feature of all is that they are auto sexing on the day they hatch!  Pullet chicks have a "chipmunk" pattern on their bodies. (see below)  They are easily handled and around Holly Berry Husbandry we have them on our heels as we work around the coops.   Our breeders were purchased directly from Greenfire Farms and are true to that line.  If you only want to raise a few birds for eggs, this is a perfect breed for that purpose.
